Australian Lunar coins commemorate the Chinese Lunar calendar for the 12-year cycle starting 1996 and ending in 2007.   They were made at the Perth mint in Australia.  The  Lunar Calendar  is filled with tradition and symbolism, and features a different animal with each year. On the obverse side of the coin is the image of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11, which graces the front of all of the Lunar series coins.
