comprises the 2012 Australian Lunar Series II Year of the Dragon – Water Dragon coin.
The birth dates for people ruled by the Chinese Lunar dragon include 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000 and 2012. Those born under the influence of this sign are said to be confident, enterprising, independent, self-assured, brave and passionate.
The reverse of the coin depicts a black dragon with red detailing and a representation of a 'pearl of wisdom'. The color black is regarded as highly spiritual and most fundamental of all colors; it also has deep significance and connection to the element of water.
The Chinese character for 'dragon' and the inscription 'Year of the Dragon' also appear in the coin design with The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mint-mark.
The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.
Struck from 1 oz of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality, this coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
